Product Review: Halo Indoor Cat Formula

My dog says KitCat has been busy eating his little heart out this month so he could bring you another review. This time, our favorite feline tested Halo's Indoor Cat formula wet food. This grain-free recipe is one item in a large line of indoor cat food products that Halo offers. So, let's see what the Big K has to say!

Ingredients:

Halo has recently changed a bunch of its foods and remarketed them as "holistic." While some of the recipe changes we're not wild about, the Halo grain free chicken recipe we tried has left the first five ingredients as-is in their latest formulation. They are chicken, chicken liver, chicken broth, natural flavor, and tricalcium phosphate. The chicken is cage free and the fruits and veggies in the recipe are non GMO.

When we opened the first can, we were a little alarmed to see little green spots all over the top. However, after reading the ingredient list we quickly realized that spinach is the sixth ingredient. So, no need for alarm when you see those green specks.

Usability:

The firmness of a wet food is always something we pay special attention to. Foods that are too hard are never well-received by our crew so we prefer foods that are easy to mash up. The Halo Indoor Cat wet food is a medium firmness. When you scoop it out, it holds its shape without falling apart. However, it is very easy to mash up so KitCat can chow down. There is also a little broth/gravy at the bottom so it's nice to scoop that out and add a little to the top so it's extra moist and enticing.

Origin:

Made in the United States.

Cost:

A 12-can case of the 5.5 ounce food is currently $19.95 on Chewy.com. That's the standard cat food can size, not the smaller one.

Rating:

KitCat likes this food. He usually didn't finish it all at once, but he always went back to eat it all. We give Halo Chicken Recipe Grain Free Indoor Cat wet food three out of four paws up!
