Chewy Now Has an Online Pet Pharmacy

My dog says we are excited to learn there's a new way to get our pet prescriptions online! Chewy.com, where we always order our pet food, now has a pharmacy!

Unfortunately, we have several pets on meds. We order an assortment of pills and ointments for our furry kiddos with heart issues, diabetes, dry eye, bad skin, and more. We currently order our prescription dog food from Chewy, so we are super excited to learn that we can order our pet meds there now, too!

The absolute best part of Chewy Pharmacy is that you can order your meds and pet food and supplies in the same order. That means it's super easy to reach the $49 threshold for free shipping, too! (Note that your meds and pet food/supplies might ship from different locations, so it's very possible you'll get your orders delivered separately.)

Chewy Pharmacy is accessible through the Chewy.com homepage. Just look for Pharmacy on the navigation bar up top. You can then use the drop down box to select what type of product you need. The Pharmacy has everything you'd expect: flea prevention, skin and coat treatments, allergy relief, eye care, medications, and more.

Find what you want in the pharmacy and add it to your cart. When you're ready to checkout, your pet's vet information will be collected.

You'll need to fill in your pet's name, vet's name, and approval method (that means deciding to have Chewy contact your vet for the prescription authorization or telling Chewy you'll be sending in the prescription yourself). Once you add the name of your veterinarian, you'll likely be given a couple options to choose from so you can select your proper office.

The process is quick and you only have to do this on your first order and for any new prescription medications you add in the future. And since the Pharmacy is part of Chewy, if you're order is a little shy of the free shipping threshold you can just add a bag of treats or a dog toy or something to get to that magic $49.

The first order will take a little longer than a typical Chewy delivery since your vet will need to be contacted and your prescription will have to be authorized. This'll be the case for any new prescriptions. As long as you have refills, though, all future prescriptions will be filled without that extra step.

The prices on Chewy Pharmacy are really good too, much less that what you'd pay at your vet's office. And the selection is solid. Our pups are on four different medications (Vetmedin, Enalapril, Lasix, and Tobramycin) and also prescription flea treatment, Bravecto. We found everything we needed in the Chewy Pharmacy, so we were quite pleased.

Our first order arrived in a week (remember when you order that FedEx doesn't deliver on Sunday or Monday, so factor that in so you don't run out of important meds!). Our order was in a padded, blue Chewy envelope, so if you have a small order, be sure to look for that and not the typical Chewy box.

Overall, we are very pleased with Chewy Pharmacy! The selection is good, the ordering process is easy, and the delivery is prompt. If you're spending a fortune at the vet's office for your pets' prescription items, stop throwing away your money! Look in the pharmacy today and find the meds you need. Then throw a special toy or treat into your cart with the extra money you'll be saving!
