My dog says this comic below is absolutely heartbreaking. People who chain their dogs sentence them to a life of lonliness, despair, and emotional and physical neglect. Dogs are pack animals who crave companionship and interaction with their human families--not a solitary life with a chain around their necks!

Would you want to live your life like this?
That is so sad. There are a couple of dogs in our neighborhood who don't get to go on walks and just live in a tiny yard (aka: city gangway). They are so fence aggressive when we walk by. I think it's sad people get dogs just to ignore them.ReplyDelete

Dear Schwang: Thanks for coming to my blog and for taking the time to leave a comment. I feel your pain; chained dogs are one of the most tragic plights to me. To have your whole world only be the length of a chain is a cruel and horrible fate (and God forbid you get the chain wrapped around something to take up all the slack!)!
The point of having a dog is to have a companion, and dogs are such wonderful companions. It's no coincidence that the cruelest punishment for people in prison is solitary confinement. To do this to a dog, for life, is nothing but pure torture.
