The story of a throw-away dog

My dog says he got all teary-eyed listening to these incredibly powerful words. This pup started his life as a puppy mill dog only to become a dead dog walking at the shelter. This spoken word piece is performed by Mindy Fortune (aka MyzFortune) and she has the amazing ability to tell such a moving account of what it must be like to be a discarded dog. Give a listen.

The ending line is utterly heartbreaking: "I hope you are blessed with a family who is impressed by what you possess."

Jimmy Stewart remembers his dog Beau

My dog says this video is an oldie but goodie from 1981. During this appearance on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, the world-renowned Jimmy Stewart reads a poem about his dear dog Beau.

Embrace your inner dog today!

My dog says he loves this piece on people acting more like dogs. Wouldn't the world be an amazing place if everyone were as pure of heart as a dog?

Things We Can Learn From A Dog

Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.

Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.

When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.

Eat with gusto and enthusiasm.

If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.

Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.

Be loyal.

Run, romp, and play daily.

When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by, and nuzzle them gently.

Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.

When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.

No matter how often you're scolded, don't buy into the guilt thing and pout...run right back and make friends.

When it's in your best interest, practice obedience.

Let others know when they've invaded your territory.

Take naps and stretch before rising.

Never pretend to be something you're not.

Thrive on attention and let people touch you.

On hot days, drink lots of water and lay under a shady tree.

Amen, bow wow

My dog says he's not a religious canine, but he does like this video by WJ Francisco that compares dogs to God. It's catchy and sweet.
